About Vito’s Mission

Early detection saves dogs’ lives.

Vito’s Mission is a Michigan advocacy and education initiative promoting annual preventive bloodwork for dogs—so more families get answers sooner and more dogs get the care they need.

Why we exist

A mission built on love—and a preventable gap in care

Too many dogs show signs of illness only after disease has progressed. Annual preventive bloodwork can help surface changes earlier, when treatment options may be simpler, less costly, and more effective.

Vito’s Mission was created to help dog owners, veterinarians, and policymakers work toward a shared goal: make early detection a standard part of responsible canine care. We focus on practical education, clear resources, and advocacy that supports better outcomes for dogs across Michigan.

“When we catch disease earlier, we give dogs a better chance—and families more time.”

Vito’s Mission

Our work is grounded in compassion and evidence-informed guidance. We amplify the importance of routine screening, share tools that help owners ask the right questions, and build momentum for policy solutions like Vito’s Act.

What we do

Education, advocacy, and action—working together

We translate complex health information into clear, usable guidance for dog owners. We also mobilize community support for Vito’s Act and other efforts that encourage preventive care—through petitions, outreach, and collaboration with animal health advocates.

Our focus: earlier answers, better outcomes

Preventive bloodwork is one part of a bigger picture—routine exams, informed questions, and timely follow-up. We help Michigan dog owners understand what to ask for and why it matters.
